Bio

Kassy Lee is a poet from San Diego, California. She is a Cave Canem fellow. She received an MFA in Creative Writing from the Helen Zell Writers’ Program at the University of Michigan and a BA in Comparative Literature & Society from Columbia. She has received fellowships from the University of Michigan Helen Zell Writers’ Program, Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico, Vermont Studio Center and Cave Canem. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in The Margins, The Massachusetts Review, FENCE, African American Review, Salamander, Kweli Journal, Columbia Review, Apogee, and Narrative. Her literary criticism has appeared in Michigan Quarterly Review and the Los Angeles Review of Books. She is at work on her debut poetry collection. She teaches at the University of California, San Diego.
